Burgau is a traditional unspoilt working Portuguese fishing village situated on the western Algarve just a 50 minute drive from
Faro airport via the motorway. The nearest large town is Lagos, only 10 minutes drive away.
Burgau itself
is set in narrow cobbled streets that lead down to a beautiful sandy beach in a bay. The child friendly
restaurants serve a variety of foods including fresh fish, pasta and typical Porutugese fare. The village
also has a take away pizza restaurant. There are several small bars in Burgau, all child friendly. Several
small supermarket type shops will cater for your daily needs whilst there is a bigger hypermarket 15 minute
drive away. There are lots of small towns & sandy beaches within 30 minutes driving distance heading west.
There are many great golf courses are nearby including the Parque de Floreta and the Boavista. For the
sports enthusiast there is a good sports centre in Burgau.
